Maybe its me but everyone just kinda seemed like they knew this is the last ride. There's going to me major shakeup next offseason if they don't perform
That's a good thing IMO if they knew they could get shipped wherever if they can't stay healthy again.

I'd be okay with that. If he misses like a month, we'll be fine.

I see that kind of talk in the office all the time from disgruntled people. ‘They’… ‘The company’ …rather than ‘we’.

Here's an interview Zion did with Jake Madison today, he seemed more relaxed and no longer pissed. Regarding his relationship with the team:

quote:

Jake: What were some of the changes you made (this offseason)?
Zion: Just learning even more about my body, where improvement was needed, and just continuing to work on it. Not just making it an offseason thing, but continuing it into the season, and just further building my relationship with the Pelicans as well, letting them know that I do trust them.

I really do think y'all were reading too much into Zion not using "We". Also, his arms are HUGE!

Apparently Chip On His Shoulder Zion is an intentional direction this season. The media day photographers where trying to get him to smile and he told them no smiles.

Hopefully we see a leap in his defense and rebounding. Those will be the most impactful things he can improve on going into the season.

Also typical Pels production values

Very laggy stream, no mics on the reporters so can't hear questions

I have just watched the interviews today (Tuesday) and no lag whatsoever.

I have done thousands of hours of professional video production. These Media Day interviews and post game interviews are a JOKE. Shaky camera video and horrendous audio. Sadly, even though it would be super easy and cheap to fix the production issues, they refuse to do so. Don't they give a shite about the fans watching these videos? C'mon Pels, fix these problems already.

On a positive note, it seems like Zion has taken his maturity to a new level during the off season. Hopefully that translates to him staying on the court for the majority of the season.

If you watched Media Day on YouTube, JV the jokester, as he's exiting his interview says "6 years extension", at which point the whole room breaks out howling in laughter. You can always count on JV to bring humor into any situation.

Only 7 more sleeps until pre-season game #1. Go Pels.

Absolutely.

He played much better defense last year than the garbage he showed previously, but he can stull get much better at being a dominant rebounder and impact defender.

Becoming more unguardable is awesome, but being a dominant 2 way player is more impactful for the team.

When Trey is healthy, I could see a lineup of:

CJ
Herb
BI
Trey
Zion

Which is not much different than the starting lineup, murdering people.

Possibly a Jose/CJ backcourt with that in small doses

Obviously, "small ball" is where the entire NBA is headed...unless you have one of the MAYBE 3 or 4 BIG 5s that are the exception. Just a matter of time.

How about we all try for just a sliver of optimism going into the season.

Naji has been tasked with guarding Zion in practice and according to Naji, Zion has been "Frying his arse"

Naji is a bum...that's the takeaway, right?

If frying arse helps keep the weight off then by all means fry up that arse Zion.
