Fraud or not, as a fan, you basically won a title and got no home games, no parade, no celebration, no real memories to relish in besides the Lakers players cheering amongst themselves in a near empty arena in Disney World. Hell cause of the lockdowns, most probably didnt even get to enjoy it with friends/bar/watch party etc.
That has to feel a lot more empty than any other championship.

What assets can they package with that money to get a shooter?
PBev was in the Gobert trade for salary reasons and they flipped him to LA for THT, who was one of their few scorers outside of LeBron and AD.
I don’t see them getting a THT level scorer back for PBev and Nunn combined.

I guess I'm dumb because I have no idea what that pic means.

You think way too highly of THT. He’s not a good shooter, terrible from 3-pt range.

The flip side is that the Lakers risked AD not coming depending on who the Pels flipped him to.
This was about a year or two after Paul George didn’t go to the Lakers because they lowballed Indy. Indy responded by flipping him to OKC for Sabonis and Oladipo, which got PG13 to stick around until the Clip Show came calling.
Given the very public and messy situation with AD had pretty much nuked the Lakers’ locker room the previous season, as LeBron tried to trade everyone who was there before he arrived to get his boy, waiting another season and potentially still not getting him was a real possibility.

Much like Westbrook, THT can score in volume, just inefficiently.
The Lakers don’t have many who could do that these days, so even a middling talent would be an improvement.

I don't know the contract details, but could they trade Pat Bev, Lonnie Walker, or Kendrick Nunn?

The problem is Lebron's offensive style doesn't really allow those type of scorers to play to their strengths. Lebron needs specific type of players to maximize the offensive style he wants to play. Fortunately for us, LeGM isn't very good at putting together a cohesive squad.

Afterall, we know AD needs a dom-daddy to thrive and Klutch is his pimp.
Equally likely I just think Lebron has always been incapable of having patience and forces the team's he's on to make consequential decisions that will affect the long-term in order to satisfy his emotional needs in the short term. It's a song as old as Lebron's career

It’s hilarious that these guys are the lakers best role players. Tanking Spurs didn’t want Lonnie Walker, Jazz are better without Beverly and Nunn hasn’t done shite the past 2+ years.

If we end up with Scoot or Wemby....hoo boy, not sure that whole "it was worth it cause we got a championship" will even comfort the most dedicated Lakers fans any longer

Because he is a spoiled fricking brat.
He constantly whined about Cleveland and Miami not giving him what he wanted, partially because he refused to sign long term deals to assure them he would stick around.
With LA, he finally found a sugar daddy desperate enough to do some of his dumber requests.

Lakers were so sure that PG was going there, he was from LA, no way he would turn down the bright lights and going home to stay in a small market. And look what happened.
Lakers couldn’t take that chance. They know how much of a bitch AD is. He may have liked Boston or NY or Chicago if we traded him there if they low balled us. And there were no other major free agents they could get that year. Lebaby woukd have been screwed.
And there were rumors Lebum would request a trade if they didn’t get AD that off-season. He wasn’t running it back with Ball and company.

He couldn’t after the way he threw them all under the bus to try and get AD at the deadline.
That shite destroyed the locker room there because they all became very aware they were expendable.

Bruce Brown said the Lakers’ game plan was to let him shoot 3s. The Lakers were calling him a “shift guy,” meaning they closed out short to him. After Brown made a few 3s in the 1st quarter, LeBron started talking trash. Brown’s response: “Your game plan ain’t working, sir.”
