All that kind of talk sounds like the teams in the AFC east when Brady just continued to stack...

LeBron's game is in clear decline. He used to be the best player in the world by a good bit. Even when he's healthy now, there's no real way to get him into the top five. LeBron is still somewhere between #6 and #10, but his scores in both 538's RAPTOR metric and in B-Ball Index's LEBRON metric were the lowest in their databases (nine years for RAPTOR and thirteen years for LEBRON).

In three years, the chance that he'll be the same player that he is now is zero. He's already in decline, and all the HGH in the world isn't going to stop that.

And, yeah, the comparison to an NFL QB is silly. Playing QB is about leadership and decision-making, and for someone like Brady, it does not depend on overall athleticism.

In a Sportscenter appearance, ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski said the Los Angeles Lakers have changed their tune slightly in trade talks. After months of saying they wouldn't trade two of their own first round picks in a deal, the Lakers have made it known that they would trade two firsts in a deal for Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets.

nets not interested until they deal with durant

The Nets were never going to get that but it was supposed to start a bidding war.

Problem is that they held a bidding war and no one came.

Teams are standing pat on their offers and some teams have left the table due to other circumstances (Phoenix due to Ayton, etc).

Durant doing this shite later in the offseason rather than before was a horribly stupid move on his part because it limited offers Brooklyn would receive. Kind of like AD trying to force a trade right before the deadline to LA for chump change and getting pissed when we told him “No, we want to get a better offer.”

correct, this was news last week or the week before.

I guess since we are in the lull of everything and LeBron signed the extension yesterday, everyone is recycling that..

Not to mention that when he said that he wanted to play for the Suns or the Heat ... that also kinda limited the offers that the Nets were going to get. They couldn't start a bidding war with only two teams allowed to bid.

I am sure this will eventually get done. Probably just need to figure out who gets stuck with Westbrook.

Thing is nobody will take Westbrook without picks, and those 2 1sts are all LA has.

There’s also another report that Kyrie has told Brooklyn he wants to stay and play out the year.

I hope that is true as it will mess up the Lakers.

Theoretically, who would be sent to LA if Kyrie is off the board?

San Antonio will eat Westbrick if it means two future unprotected firsts but I don’t see them sending any players of significance out there.

Indy would want a better return than that if they are Westbrick while sending out Turner and Buddy Hield.

Second look at taking Charlotte’s trash?

Kyrie is definitely playing this year. It's a contract year after all. He's going to ball out, pretend to be a team player for a few months, get paid, then go right back to his usual bs.

LAL: mcdermott, richardson, collins
SAS: goatbrook, 27 & 29 1sts

SAS can bring Westbrick into cap space IIRC.

Why send out people with value if you don’t have to?

Edit - I may be wrong. Spotrac claims they have about $24m in cap space so they would have to send salary out to partially match Westbrick.

They’d need to ship out closer to $20m than the approximately $40m you listed.

On the flip side, though, the Spurs could get assets for McBuckets and Richardson.

Westbrook is pretty much worth two unprotected firsts to eat between being bought out upon arrival and the size of his contract. I don’t see much positive value heading back to LA even with those picks attached.

Take a look at Pop’s history with the Lakers and trades then tell me they do this.

They took a lesser value for Kawhi rather than trade him to the Lake Show.

Correct. Pop won't help any in conference teams, especially the Lakers.

What is his usual BS? Im assuming you are referring to the vaccine fiasco. He didnt choose to sit out. He was held out for doing what 95% of this board claims they did or wish they did. Yea he is a weird cat but he gained respect imo for doing what he believed in
