Davis out tonight, Lakers on a road B2B, with the potential for a trap game at Houston.
With 5:38 left in the 2nd quarter, Rockets winning 48-33.

The lakers losing this game would be hilarious

Houston is just not a team that you want to play on the 2nd night of a B2B. They don't play basketball that well, but they are full of young athletes who can run a tired team off the court.
And that's what has happened so far tonight.

Reminder Lakers scored 75 points in the first half against us last night, and they didn’t crack 90 until 5 minutes in the 4th tonight

all about shooting, also like I mentioned no backup big man....
lakers started a very small lineup last night and the shooting wasn't there.
37% for the game.
31/37 from FT though kept them involved in the game and made the final score look closer than it should have been.

Loss to the Mavs last night keeps the Lakers in 10th. They are still only one Davis rolled ankle away from giving us more ping-pong balls.

Whose heart breaking buzzer beater loss was worse, Pels or Lakers? We suck but AD sagging off Kleber for him to hit the dagger on them eases the pain slightly

I admire your desire to stay positive

I mean, they are in 11th place in the West at the moment, out of the postseason. They would also have the 11th spot in the draft order, with a 9.4% chance of getting us a top-4 pick. Obviously, they expect LeBron to come back at some point.
If I were betting, I would say that the odds of us getting their pick are small, but they aren't nothing. Betting on Davis getting injured has historically been a good bet.

That’s encouraging? I always assumed he would unless I missed the sarcasm

Oof. The Magic had a chance to steal this game, and they let Austin Reaves score 30

Good win tonight against a scrappy Magic squad

Reeves is an RFA at the end of the season. Here, Shams hosts a discussion about his value, and the consensus is that Reeves will get more than 4 years and $50 million, and teams that want him may put in poison pills that make it very hard for the Lakers to match.
