in 2023-24 the lakers could have 100MM in cap space. one hundred million

they’d have three guaranteed contracts
Toni at 40MM
THT at 12MM
Jones at 2.5MM

they could get Irving for free if they really want him. Same as if they’d just waited on Davis

Some other tweets talking about this that amused me:

quote:

I would like to think Jeanie wouldn’t be as stupid to subtweet Lebron but who knows with white women

quote:

Jeanie Buss should’ve put team above self and paid Alex Caruso

quote:

Jeanie lowballed our best guard defender to save a buck and now she’s talking about being unselfish for the “team”. She was gifted the best sports franchise in the world on a silver platter and has done nothing but run it into the ground. I’m sick.

quote:

Lebron and Klutch frickin that organization up man got Jeanie hurtin and shite

quote:

Jeanie said I ain’t trading no more 1sts for your weirdo friends Lebron

quote:

Y’all think Jeanie subtweeting Bron I actually think she subtweeting Russ cuz didn’t Russ repost a video of his highlights from 2012 when he found out he getting traded

From Skip Bayless:

quote:

SHANNON AND I ARE BACK WITH A BANG TO DEBATE KD, KYRIE AND JEANIE’S BOMBSHELL LATE-NIGHT TWEET. Now on

I saw a tweet from what was obviously a Lakers fan talking about he's going to be hitting F5 all day waiting for Kyrie news These people will not be in good spirits when it's training camp and they still have Russ instead of Kyrie.

I miss KB. He would understand and explain everything that I’m not allowed to. Honestly he was the greatest Laker ever. He understood team over self. Meaning your rewards would come if you valued team goals over your own then everything would fall into place. All can reply.

Feel like nostalgia is getting the best of her

She talking about the same Kobe that pushed Shaq out due to his ego and need to be “the guy”

The same Kobe that when that fell apart and the team was no longer printing rings in Shaq’s absence, Kobe demanded a trade?

I’m all for throwing shade at Lebron(if that’s who this is intended for), but Kobe was just a tamer “me first” version of Lebron. And was in a league where frankly, teams weren’t as smart as they are now. So you could pull off a Pau Gasol trade and not have to give up your future.

Sure, but would they be willing to throw away another year of LeBron by waiting until next offseason, or you are speculating that they may want Kyrie independent of having LeBron?

She must have missed the part to where Kobe would be a Bull if he hadn’t realized they would have lost every player he wanted to play alongside to get him.

Even beyond that, calling Kobe "the greatest Laker" is just so disrespectful to Magic and Kareem.

I am speculating that in a vacuum they’d like to be rid of lebron. Davis, Irving, and 70MM in cap space would be a pretty fricking good place to start to rebuild/retool.

they need to take control back of a multi-billion dollar enterprise that they have ceded to a pair of narcissists only in this for themselves. It’s all fun and games with klutch until the bills come due

BTW I 100% believe klutch will win this tug of war. They’ll trade Westbrook and the picks for Irving and then lebron will insist on a 1-yr contract and make sure Irving gets his 3-4 year max.

At this point I would be fine with LeBron and Klutch bankrupting Jeannie and her siblings. Entitled bitch was born on third and thinks she hit a triple.

Be nice, she's a kind a generous person. And by that I mean I like our odds at pulling 2 more top 10 picks out of this, one of which hopefully is top 4.

I don’t think she’s entitled (any more than any other wealthy heir) and I believe that it is pretty well accepted that the lakers were better off with her and her brothers running the team

like it or don’t but the laker way works. Leverage LA and star power and take what yin want. The Davis trade was a prime example and they got what they wanted, except they could have waited and paired him with Ingram and ball

This take is getting tired. Last season Lakers made what they thought was the right trade to placate LeBron. Do you not think last season was “ throwing away a year of LeBron“? If you do, then what is the difference?

The incompetency and lighter pocket books of the Lakers organization is the ONLY equalizing factor the rest of the league has to even the playing field against the enormously privileged advantage that team has as a market and destination.

Imagine if the Lakers were run by Toronto’s brain trust and FO? Or Golden State’s? Or even just a middle of the road ownership/FO?

The league would be damn near broken

Obviously they didn’t think they were throwing away last season. They were wrong, it would be stupid for them to go into this season without changing anything from last season, unless they have basically accepted that the LeBron era of the Lakers is over.

if you’re the lakers, wouldn’t you be better off with a Westbrook + pick for hield and turner trade?

Davis
Lebron
Turner
Hield
THT
Nunn
whoever else
