That isn't what he said.

He said they aren't going back and forth.

Yea if the rumors are true that Brooklyn wants Thybulle, Maxey, and possibly Seth along with Simmons, you have to laugh hard at that.

Back and forth is how trades happen. If they're not going back and forth, no trade talk is happening. Philly put their offer, Brooklyn countered, and they ended.

I guess I am trained to think about words specifically and those words stuck out to me big time.

It just means:

1) They aren't CURRENTLY going back and forth and could start again.
2) They ALREADY went back and forth and the deal is done
3) They ALREADY went back and forth, deals are on the table for both teams still to consider

And a variety of other things.

He never said "No deal is going to happen"

Some rumors on hoopshype:

Alec Burks and Evan Fournier are being shopped by the knicks

quote:

Prior to Wednesday, the Knicks had dialogue with teams on Fournier. New York touched base with the New Orleans Pelicans at one point in the days leading up to the deadline and the Pelicans sought draft compensation in a deal for Fournier. But the talks didn’t progress. New Orleans has since acquired CJ McCollum, so it’s fair to assume that they are not a suitor for Fournier

All per Ian Badgley

Pacers are keeping Buddy barring something unforeseen per Zach Lowe

quote:

Jason Dumas: Update: Sixers have refused to include Tyrese Maxey in any deal with Brooklyn. Nets have countered with an asking price of Simmons, Curry, Thybulle, and Drummond. Sixers are hesitant to include Curry. Any deal would likely send Patty Mills to Philly aside from Harden.

Patty and Harden for Simmons/Curry/Thybulle/Drummond seems pretty reasonable to me- what do we think Morey is waiting on?

Yup, NAW goes to Utah for $5 million in cap space and a crappy 2nd rounder. Kind of a cheap price tbh

Harden has missed 38 games since the beginning of last year. The only load he's carried is his own fat arse.

I think Brooklyn is the one that blinks. They've already fallen to 8 in the East. Harden can probably get toxic enough to knock them out of the play in.

Even if you want to keep Harden long term, the prize at the end of the season is paying him $250 million. If I'm Sean Marks, while I hope to squeeze more out of them, I settle for an even Harden/Simmons swap 100 times out of a 100 when the clock strikes 12.

The Brooklyn Nets traded three first round picks, four pick swaps, and gave up both Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert to land superstar guard James Harden from the Houston Rockets just weeks into the start of last season

so 3 1sts, 4 swaps, allen & levert for simmons.
that values simmons at exactly the same compensation as harden, less than a year later

i think you gotta get more, even if its drummond and "something". that something though isnt curry AND matisse

I'm confident to go on the record that the following guys will NEVER win a ring unless it's riding coattails as the last man on the bench:

Westbrook
Simmons
Harden

All three are headcases. One's a ball hog. The other is a scared bitch and the last one is a fat punk that relies on bullshite calls for half his points.

Can't stand any of them and hope to see them all fail.

Additionally, the HEAT and Thunder have agreed to amend the protections of the first round pick already owed to Oklahoma City via the Clippers originally from Miami to a 2025 first round protected pick, and if not conveyed, to a 2026 unprotected pick.

Heat and Thunder have agreed to amend the terms of the first-round pick Miami owes OKC in a way that gives the Heat more flexibility to trade picks now -- details in release. Potentially important.

Looks like what actually happened in Okpala deal is that protected '23 pick Miami owed was pushed back to '25 with less protection. Heat can now trade their '22 or '23 first, which may be of significance in next 24 hours or so.
