Yes, something will have to be done by Friday morning.

My hope is that he has a couple of deals on the table and is trying to decide which route to go. Maybe too hopeful. More likely he is scrambling trying to coax a team into joining the Memphis trade so that he does not look like he wasted his moves.

Really 2 and a pick swap, but he is basically saying that the reason we paid to get off of Adams and Bledsoe was to create the room to sign Lowry and we failed. As such, we had to give up the 2nd 1st to get Graham.

And it is complete bullshite because as you said he ignores the pick swap. And he also ignores JV and protections.

Pels fans - I don't know how much more I can tweet about the Memphis deal for it to stick. It became VERY clear early in free agency that no one wanted their money and now the Pelicans are focused on trades - as it's the best option for improvement. They are not players in FA!

It's very possible that they don't pull off any trades, but free agency stopped being the path forward about 90 minutes into it. So if they don't pull off a trade - they royally screwed themselves this offseason.

Yeah, it is a bit lazy. However, I can see how he came to the conclusion that the reason for the move was to get Lowry.

Yea, it's pretty obvious any big player who flirted with us was just using us to drive up their price.

It sucks, but it is what this franchise has always had to deal with and always will unless they become constantly good. Zion's "camp" doesn't help things.

Sad part is that it is true. Whether it is the team, the city, or a complete mistrust of Griffin by players now, no one that has other options appear to want to come to this team.

That is fine. And it probably was the reason. But it's not an excuse to leave out any other good piece you received to make you look like more of a loser.

And I am not trying to defend the trades. I honestly would have sat on those two players and try to move them next year. But with the Zion pressure it's obvious why the move was made.

I don't even think Lowry drove his price up any, which makes it all the more curious from Griffin's perspective

Wonder if JJ constantly throwing shade at us is hurting our ability to get anyone to come here.

It's all about winning. The Pels haven't done it with Zion and Ingram yet. Players look for better situations for themselves and right now the Pels aren't a better situation for many players.

well you just have 0 room for error if you're a small market team with a star, they can't wait to write stories about you pining to play for the Knicks and making your organization look bad

ESPN NBA People: This FA class mostly sucks

Also ESPN NBA people: OMG the pelicans didn't sign any big names in FA, they're wasting Zion!!!!

griffin has earned a lot of the shite he's catching buuuut some of it feels pretty targeted

It is 100% targeted, but Griffin also has to know and anticipate that.

There is no league like the NBA where all the stars control where they want to go. It's really lame.

Look at how Lonzo pushed his way out pretty hard and Bledsoe sabotaged the team. It feels like we are in a quiet blood feud with Klutch. I'm sure that's not helping. I wonder if Moses Moody signing with Klutch gave the Pels one more reason to trade back.

I personally don't think so. It's all about winning.
Nobody will care what a washed up player thinks when it comes down to the end of making a decision. It's money and winning.
