Cause I honestly don't see it unless something changes fast.

Was a lot of talk about an easy schedule, but I see maybe 5 favored wins the rest of the way, and that's generous after a night where we lost to a tanking team:

@Portland - L
@GS - L
@Kings - L
Dallas - L
OKC - W
Portland(b2b) - L
LAL - L
@Hou - W
@Hou - W
SAS - W
Char - W
@LAC - L
@Portland - L
@GS(B2B) - L
@Denver - L
LAC - L
Kings - L
Memphis - L
Knicks - L
@Minny - L

Even if you can realistically get Zion back for SA at home on Mar 21, he will be restricted, and the rest of the way is all playoff, or surging play-in teams.

And lets say you pull off .500 record, does anyone feel this team as currently constituted will get through a play-in again? Or not just get swept by Denver/Memphis?

We'll be favored in well over 6 games so unless you can beat Vegas, the answer is yes.

No confidence in either of those, no.

This talking point is overblown. I know they're using win percentage, but we have 5 games left against teams not in playoff contention. On top of that, we've been a bottom 5 team in the NBA in the last 8 weeks. I think this team folds after tonight.

If Zion and Nance comes back? Yes.

We'll be favored probably 7 in a row from Portland through Charlotte. 6 at the very least.

I'll take any bets you want, you name the stakes that we'll be favored in at least 7 games the rest of the way. Any stakes, any amount.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but when the assumption is we need to have two guys that haven't stayed healthy all season miraculously make near full recoveries and stay on the court, I'm not seeing too many opportunities to sneak many, and if history if our guide, we will lose at least one of those I gifted us as schedule wins.

and if history if our guide,
Then we'd know just last season we started 3-16 then without any big changes in health or anything, things immediately changed for us.

Teams very rarely remain in their exact form that they are currently in, like we saw last season.

Portland is playing better than us and we play them on a B2B.

We cant even beat Orlando at home with rest. LAL wiped the floor with us last outing.

Vegas can say whatever they want, we've been beating the house in the worst way recently. And unless things change, I don't see us winning 7 in a row, do you?

Not vegas, but you

I'm glad you have this level of optimism at a time when we need to be playing a lot better to make it through this gauntlet as more than a play-in team. I hope you are right

Oh no, if things don't change we won't win more than 4 games, tops.

My argument is things will change, the odds they don't are unbelievably miniscule.

Don't even know I'd call it optimism, I just don't see any realistic way we play this bad for the entire rest of the season. Not like I think we're winning 12 of em and cruising to a 6 seed or winning the play in. The season in totality is toast.

Just answering the question and being optimistic. It will be a miracle if see a healthy roster like we did in the beginning though. I just hope Zion knows to stretch now

We were favored tonight.. we don’t win the games we should, which becomes an issue late in the season

We HAVE TO win atleast 6/8 of the games that start at home vs Dallas and ends at home vs Charlotte.

If you don't win 6 of those, the play-in dream is dead. Cause it's nothing but playoff teams after that and unless Zion is back, we'll be the underdog in all of those games.

Team has bottomed out, only place is to go up. They’ll get 12 out of last 20.

I hope some of you are right, but the team is just as probable to be a tweaked CJ thumb or BI achilles soreness away from finding a new bottom.

Unfortunately you’re right about that.

1 month later check in.

We've already won 7 of those games with 8 more to go.

As I stated, we were also favored in 7 straight games in 1 stretch.

And as for why I figured we'd win more than 5 out of our final 20, well, my posts in this thread quoted below tell you why:

And as always in the NBA, you're usually not what you are at any 1 given time, and seasons have many ebbs and flows.

I don’t blame him for the post. It was some dark days. Hell, we even lost one of the Houston games.

Glad we look to be picking up our play at the right time though. Hopefully, we can get another nice win tonight and build more momentum and confidence.
