All of your bands are mostly before my time but I'd probably also have Floyd, Zeppelin, The Beatles, and the Stones in my top 5.

I like Queen a lot but would replace them with The Allman Brothers.

There are a lot of other 'rock' bands I like from my era (80s/90s) but are not nearly top 5 worthy.

No.1 has to be The Beatles.

They literally changed everything. If you have a clear recollection of listening to music in the 50’s through the 60’s, there’s no doubt.

I have a lot of trouble making a list of five.
So many variables.

I must assume the up and down votes work in a bizarro logic way in this thread. Either that or some of you people have astonishingly awful taste in music.

I cannot post them in any specific order because I am afraid of an aneurysm so here you go:

- Rush
- Genesis
- Yes
- Pink Floyd
- Iron Maiden

No particular order

None of the “classics” I know.. I’m younger and grew up in the 90s. These bands were game-changers for me.

Tool
Soundgarden
Alice In Chains
Rage Against the Machine
Metallica

After reading the replies and seeing that you can choose other types of rock.

1. Led Zepplin
2. Black Crowes
3. Chicago
4. Collective Soul
5. Stone Temple Pilots

This is shite.

“Rock” probably needs to be defined. So many sub genres- Rock, Rock N Roll, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Speed Metal, Death Metal, Punk. Each could have its own top 5! Also individual artists or artist plus band (Ted Nugent, Buddy Holly and the Crickets)

Ramones
Stones
The Clash
The Who
Cheap Trick

*Honorable Mention- Sex Pistols
and The Beach Boys

Green Day
Panic at the disco (early stuff, but I like current as well)
Bush
Third eye blind

Honorable mentions - the killers and the wombats and cage the elephant
