Honestly, these days I'd rather listen to Song for America, Kansas, or Masque.

Moody blues

Days of future passed ( I see mizz posted it)

Spirit

Twelve dreams of dr sardonicus

Anything yes and pink I’m down for.

Everyone else is a bit hit or miss for me. For example, beat is my favorite king crimson and that’s an 80s album. Idk why I don’t really like their other stuff.

Agreed to an extent.

Discipline is my favorite KC album and it’s an 80s one too

A lot of their earlier stuff, like Court of the Crimson King era albums don’t stand up as well for me

I love me some Floyd, but is it really progressive? They came out of the psychedelic branch of rock..I mean sure, Money is in 7/8, but can you name any other tunes that venture outside of 3/4 4/4?

If you haven't already, go check out some of the Italian bands from the 70's. You gotta get around the Italian vocals, but the playing is top notch. The songs are really good, the recordings are marginal, to be honest. Still, if you're an old school progressive lover, you have to go down that rabbit hole at least once,

Hawkwind is kind of like Floyd in that, while not near as good, they really bring the psychedelic to the front. Some consider them progressive. Not sure about that.

Some others to check out are Nektar and BeBop Deluxe. Brand X has been mentioned.

UK is almost never mentioned, but I really like their albums, especially the one with Holdsworth on guitar.

Once you gravitate towards 70-80s fusion, then a whole other world of possibilities comes to light.
