Your list of essential late 60's/70's prog albums

I enjoy prog music. But I specifically enjoy stuff from about 67-77. The sweet spot for most "classic prog rock" I think most would say
So I ask the members of this board, what would be your essential list of prog rock albums that came out in this period of time. If you care to share any explanation why you chose certain albums that would be welcome
I'll go with 10, unranked for my personal list. Tried to not do multiple of the same artist, just for fun
My list:
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Can - Future Days
Genesis - Selling England by the Pound
King Crimson - Larks Tounges in Aspic
Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
Yes - Close to the Edge
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick
Brian Eno - Another Green World
Camel - Moonmadness
Emerson Lake and Palmer - Tarkus
Let's prog it up fellas

Close to the Edge was the first that popped into my head.

Also Foxtrot, Trespass, and Nursery Cryme by Genesis.
Selling England as you mentioned.
Reason: awesome albums and are what got me into that kind of music at 14 years old while reading alot of Tolkien...lol..

If you can tolerate a heavy German accent doing your singing, Eloy put out some very interesting prog albums in the 70’s.

That's at the top of my list. I'll add one more of theirs to this, and to the previously mentioned Tarkus - Pictures at an Exhibition.

Just here to add Uriah Heep Live because they always get left out and it's an absolutely phenomenal album.
The shite Thain and Kerslake did on this album is absolutely mind blowing.

Well, since you started this, I'd have to chime in on Genesis' Trick of the Tail and Foxtrot. Peter Gabreil was amazing.
Hawkwind was fun as well.

Gentle Giant is quite unknown and that is sad, because that was a truly awesome prog-rock band.
Thankfully, all of their albums are on YouTube.
Here's a great prog rock internet radio station for you:

I am still trying to make a list responding to the OP. My brain cannot simplify much of anything in a very nonconstructive way. It is as if I entered a rabbit hole with pathways designed by the Baton Rouge department of public works.
Saw Gentle Giant in 1972 at the LSU PMAC in Baton Rouge and did not know who they were. I was in 10th grade at the time. My older brother and one of his friends were going to see Jethro Tull and asked if I wanted to ride along. A girlfriend of mine had given me Aqualung for Christmas of 1971 because I had borrowed her brother's copy and had about worn it out.
Until recently, I have always thought that the opening band was Ballin' Jack.
Jethro Tull Setlist' It was the Thick as a Brick tour. Full album followed by a folloow-up of the listed Aqualung+ songs .
Clearest sounding concert that I ever attended.

morow.com plays this group's music quite a bit. Otherwise, I would not have considered Supertramp to be Prog Rock.
How about some "Neu!" prog rock from West Germany?
