I can’t recall for sure but was fairly young attending with parents. I have clear memories of all three:

Al Jarreau - ‘84 World’s Fair
Stevie Wonder - Cajundome
Billy Joel - Cajundome

Quad City DJ’s - Club LaVela- Panama City, FL - April 1999 (terrible, never go to rap concerts)

Garbage/Lit - MTV Campus Invasion Tour- Murray State University - October 1999 (Garbage was fantastic. 17 song set list)

Rage Against the Machine - Municipal Auditorium Nashville- Battle of Los Angeles Tour- December 8, 1999 - (SOLD OUT. Near riot started with metro police. Was my #1 show for 20 years until I saw KISS and L7 this year)

Can't remember if these were the first 3 but it's the first 3 I can easily recall:

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts at the Amphitheater at Veteran's Park in Shreveport sometime around 1985

AC/DC Who Made Who Tour at Hirsch Coliseum 1986

Garth Brooks in Hirsch Coliseum at the State Fair around 1989

had a blast at their show at Tip's in 88.

August in New Orleans, no AC, no one left early. Left soaked with sweat but, damn! was that fun!

When I went to my first concert, I stuck my ticket stub in my wallet. I kept doing that when I went to see other shows. Sometime during my sophomore year at OSU I lost my wallet and all those stubs. I’ve saved all my stubs from all the shows I’ve seen since then. The only one of those I don’t have is from a Dead show at The Palace of Auburn Hills, MI on 6/8/93 because some pig cop stole it out of my wallet when we got stopped and searched at a speed trap on our way home. (The car in front of us with Michigan plates didn’t get stopped but we with Ohio plates and Dead stickers on the car did...go figure.) It was a good seat, too. I still remember it was Sec A, Row 3, Seat 7. Oh well, I had a couple hits of blotter acid folded up in tin foil tucked down in one of the credit card slots in my wallet and they didn’t find that so I’ll count my blessings. Still, it was bogus to steal my nice mail order stub.

Anyway, I’ve been trying to reassemble the list of shows I saw before I lost my wallet that time. I spent my adolescence in northern Indiana and this is the list of all the shows I saw before I moved back to Ohio full time.

Rush - November 5, 1982 - Notre Dame ACC - South Bend, IN

REO Speedwagon - February 19, 1983 - Notre Dame ACC - South Bend, IN

Journey - June 2, 1983 - Notre Dame ACC - South Bend, IN

Styx - June 26, 1983 - Notre Dame ACC - South Bend, IN

Billy Joel - February 2, 1984 - Notre Dame ACC - South Bend, IN

Adam Ant w/ The Romantics - March 11, 1984 - Wings Event Center - Kalamazoo, MI

Elton John - August 23, 1986 - Poplar Creek Music Theater - Hoffman Estates, IL
