Working from memory here but I know I have or had:
1. Ramones - 13 not counting compilations
2. REM - 9 counting Chronic Town
3. The Connells - 8(all but the last one)
4. X - 6
No other act really comes close because I started just getting songs from acts like Steely Dan, Buffet,DBT and The Dead.

I am not sure what you are asking.

I think OP wants to know if you own many albums of a particular artist.
If so, who and how many!

For me, it is
Beatles (Every UK Issue)
Ryan Adams - Every Cardinals Album and all solo except 29, Rock and Roll.
The Smiths - Forget the names but I think I have like 5 of theirs?
Jerry Jeff Walker - 4 or 5 albums

Oh damn. I thought we had a superstar MB poster that was in each of those bands!

Probably Frank Zappa because of how prolific he was. I'm guessing around 20 - which is a tiny fraction of his entire catalog.

I freely admit to sucking at titles.

I admit to sucking titties too.
Mine is easily Guided By Voices. Somewhere around 20 or 25.

It varies depending on whether you're counting live recordings. I have every album the Grateful Dead released while Jerry was alive except for Steal Your Face. That's 20 (counting Infrared Roses). If you count Dick's and Dave's Picks and vault recordings there are a lot more. Count bootlegs and we're in the hundreds.
I have every album Frank Zappa released plus a good number of posthumous releases. Throw in bootlegs and that's in the neighborhood of a hundred.
I have most of Miles Davis's albums through the 70's. That's 36. I also have a few bootlegs.
I have every studio album King Crimson released (13) plus another 50-60 live albums and vault releases. Maybe more.

Bob Dylan - 29
Prince - 12
Tom Waits - 12
Wilco - 9
Several in the 5-9 category, and I didn't count anything but vinyl.

You probably should have asked, "How many artists do you have every single non-bootleg studio album they ever released?"
Bands go through changes so sometimes you jump onboard or maybe you jump off with your feelings for a band. I know I have every album by Led Zeppelin, XTC, Velvet Underground, Jefferson Airplane & The Nice to name a few.
Others, I lost interest in; for example- The Who after Keith Moon died, Black Sabbath after Ozzy was kicked out (although their decline had already started), Pink Floyd after Roger Waters left (although The Final Cut was difficult for me to swallow).
