I've always had good experiences. They are really high energy and fun, and I've never had a problem with the sound, but I guess it depends on the show. I've only ever seen them at Zilker and Moody Theater.

However, I CAN see how they may not appeal to most women. I'm with you on that.

the worst live performance they had ever seen.

I am pretty sure they were dubbed best live performers of all time from some European museum.

When I saw them they were great. I was standing next to Kevin Griffin of Better than Ezra and he was singing along to all their songs which was pretty interesting.

At one point at the Moody show, Will starting banging the snare with a gigantic tree limb, for Christ's sake. Everyone plays multiple instruments and they switch mid-song, and Win and Will love to go out into the crowd and run up and down the aisles. Their live performance is insane.

Now y'all are making me want to see them. Never really been that interested in them before. Always thought they were good but I've never been inspired to dig into them. Guess I will now

I know others have their favorites, but Funeral was one of the great records of last decade...

They were on fire on that tour and 8 or so years later (the last time I saw them - Jazz Fest), they had lost none of it...

I discovered them in 04/05 when I first started listening to "good" modern music and I have always been a sucker for huge epic songs like AF is so good at so they have always been right up there as one of my favorites if not my absolute favorite.

I have worn the shite out of my Funeral CD

Neon Bible is usually cited as the better album but I am a sucker for Funeral. Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) is my favorite AF song.

I'm pretty sure Funeral is way more acclaimed than Neon Bible (not that Neon Bible isn't acclaimed). But Funeral was top ten of the past decade by most publications.

I have to agree. Neon Bible is a good album, but Funeral is definitely one of the best albums of the last decade, at least imo. The Suburbs give Funeral a run for it's money, though.

I got to see them on their Neon Bible tour at the Atlanta Civic Center, which is kind of an odd venue for them since I can't remember ever hearing of a big rock act playing there, but it was a really good show.

Not saying some European museum didn't say this, but I find that very difficult to believe.

Having said that I have not seen them live, only watched their ACL and some other video.

One of my best concert experiences was Sleigh Bells at the Varsity before they 'took off'. I'm using that term fairly loosely right now. But I can't imagine that Arcade Fire is better live than The Rolling Stones were in their prime. Or Led Zeppelin, or the Grateful Dead.

But I haven't seen any of those bands live, so I may not know what the frick I'm talking about.
