who compared to who? oh you're talking about extremely popular bands like the stones, beatles, pink floyd, and LZ?

I don't know if you're talking about the 60's, 70's, and 80's -- or modern day -- but if it's the former, it's probably because Europeans dug blues and r&b when Americans pretty much stopped giving a shite about it. And they turned the amps up.

Oasis

Per capita nothing beats England's output. Jamaica is the next closest thing.

Had to move to London and add two Brits
Britain does a way better job of producing quality rock bands and I've always thought it strange. I don't think there is something inherently about being British that translates to rock and roll better than being American.

Americans are way better at rap and bro country though.

What are you talking about? Every decent jam band is American, and everything except jam bands sucks. At least that is what I've learned from this board.
Seriously, I think it is because Americans pride themselves on their individualism. We are just less inclined to pursue collaborative efforts. I think this is reflected in the large number of solo artists.

What's are the best band of all time?
Now, what are the best US band ever? None of those make most best bands top ten.
It's really pretty sad.
