Phish + Drake = Phake

Phish + Tool = Phool

Phish + rap = Phap

Phish + Kinks = Phinks

Phish + Beatle = The Pheatle position

Without EVH, fairly forgettable. With EVH, they're well above average, surely among the top 50.

Musically, I'd place them well under the likes of bands like Rush, Yes, Pink Floyd, Yard Birds, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Stones, Sabbath, Toto, Eagles, Allman Brothers, CCR, etc.

Come on man what?

Toto has one of the all time best drummers and guitarists ever. They're a force to be reckoned with.

As far as musicianship in those two departments, cannibal corpse blows them away. Africa is probably their best known song and I do like the band, I'd just put them on the same level as a band like Chicago.

Under-appreciated, but still one of the tightest bands I've heard, and two very respected musicians as well.

Running the fret board with speed, and hammering doesn't make you a the greatest guitarist ever, thus make VH amazing. They're great. I've owned all their albums and have many of their CDs in my collection. I'm a fan, but musically, I don't really see them technically better than Toto was. I just don't, and certainly not more than the others mentioned.

Ill give the OP a pass. 99% of the music board is the same 5 guys jerking each other off about what jam bands are cool, so there's no room for discussion about other types of music.
