Also one of the best music videos ever.

Watch it with the thought that JC took Reznor's original about drug addiction and made it about the inevitable ravages of old age: Hurt

Kelly Clarkson covering Patty Griffin's Up To the Mountain for the vocal masterclass:

Has a big crack on the glory note but so what: LINK

This one she doesn't have the crack but she is singing the song with Reba so she doesn't sing the whole song but she does get the big belting part: LINK

And it was already mentioned but Eva Cassidy's Fields of Gold cover may be the best of all time.

Dude! I'm a huge fan of The Knife and that blew me away. Fantastic cover!

I enjoy Mira Billotte's version of As I Went Out One Morning more than Dylan's original.

I wouldn't call it my favourite, but I've always liked The Passenger by Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Elliott Smith thirteen

Took an already great song and made it different in a depressing as hell way.

The Dixie Chicks absolutely dominated "Landslide".

Okay, I'll finally listen.

(Five minutes later)

Natalie not only sounds out of tune, she can't hold Stevie's mic.

Sure Stevie had a distinct voice that some don't like and think it's out of tune but Natalie is flat and totally out of tune...and worse, has no soul.

Stevie is usually deep and rich and Natalie is flat and surface level out of tune.

That is one of the more mediocre monotone covers I ever heard.

In fact, it pissed me off. It's the last thing you want to do with a cover, make it tone-less, flat and boring for such a great song. Stevie might not be perfect but her song has impact.

Maybe Landslide can't be covered; it certainly can't be covered by Dixie Chicks.

Notice the difference - it's glaring... Stevie

Yeah, the remake didn't have nearly the impact of the original to me.
