What Says The Music Board About 'Bro Country'?

Me, I tend to agree with the underlying premise that so-called 'Bro Country' is very light-weight.
IMO, Nashville right now is mainly just a mis-mash of twanged-up soft rock, really poor hip-hop/rap, with fairly brain-dead subject matter. Obviously, it's selling.
Miss the days when Nashville gained global appeal in the 1990's to early 2000's - seemed like a couple of stretches there when it had a better balance of commercialism and artistry - also seemed like a better balance of competent male and female performers.

I find it repetative, but country has always been this way. The only difference is that now, the kinds of meatheads that used to listen to 80s glam rock 30 years ago and nickelback 10 years ago are listen to bro country now.
Personally, I don't care for it. I don't need to listen about how awesome bonfires, beer, daisy dukes, cow boy boots, swimmin' in creeks, and having sex in truck beds is. I know it's awesome, I lived that life, I don't need to keep harping on it.
FYI, if you've never done it, I highly recommend f&%king a girl in the bed of a pickup truck parked next to a river under the moonlight surrounded by fireflies. Really makes your speakers go boom boom.

I'm not speaking for the entire board. I rarely post in the Music Board. I just know that Bro Country is widely discussed. It's probably second only to jam bands as a topic of interest.

Thanks to Pandora and Spotify I have gotten back into the country music that I grew up with and started wondering WTF happened to country bands like Alabama, Sawyer Brown, The Highwaymen, Oak Ridge Boys, Bellamy Brothers, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, etc? It wasn't that long ago when cowboy country music was insanely popular. Artists like Garth Brooks, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Joe Diffie, Mark Chestnutt, Tracy Byrd, John Anderson, Sammy Kershaw and so on were huge stars. What they're putting on the radio now is just a mess.
