What made George Strait so good?

Sturgill Simpson is the man to do it, just not sure if he'll ever be that popular. He deserves to be known by everyone into country music, but has less than 25k followed on spotify, and only 2 songs with 1 mil+ Plays on there.

Well it seems like nobody else is a big star just sitting there and singing. Is there nobody else on the planet with similar talent or do we have too much ADD now?

I like Sturgill but he's not going to be George Strait. Strait was much more neutral, I think SS is either a love it or don't like it kind of thing.

I think another thing that makes GS so good is the emotion he puts into every song. You feel the hurt, the anguish, the joy, the excitement.

I agree completely. Sturgill is more of a Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard style of country music.
