I've never really listened to the boss and want to check out his best albums.

Yeah. That would be a good place to start. Live 75-85 is also good because you get a good sample of his discography up to that point as well as his live performance.

My fav: Darkness on the Edge of Town

I'm usually a pretty big critic of the Boss, but he has some good stuff out there. I like the album Nebraska a lot.
