What band would you choose to show someone who has never heard music before?

There was a video within the past year about an old man who had been deaf his entire life. With the help of science he was given the ability to hear and was shown classical music. If you have seen the video, you know that the man's face was absolutely ecstatic.

So say you are given the opportunity to provide music to someone who has never heard any type of music before in his entire life. What band/artist do you show him?

My choice would be Miles Davis. Nothing to crazy, just an all around phenomenal musician. It is nothing too complex for the man to fathom but something that he will ultimately enjoy.

Second choice: Chopin. No explanation needed, he's the GOAT

As in nothing too over the top to blast the man with rock and roll. Miles Davis' music is not overpowering and it would be something to ease into.

Typical heady

'Miles Davis' is a broad answer. I am pretty sure if you put on Bitches Brew, On the Corner, A Tribute to Jack Johnson, Live-Evil, Pangea, Agharta etc to a deaf person they would be pretty tramuatized. That is hard hitting, dirty fusion.

Meh. Anyone who says a jam band isn't thinking the question through. You have to understand music before you can understand the GOATness of GD, ABB, Phish, etc.

Either a really talented singer like Andrea Bocelli, or "Take Five" by Dave Brubeck, or "Air on a G String" by Bach
