Fun fact: Skrillex (Sonny Moore) was actually the lead singer of "post-hardcore" band From First to Last. They were pretty terrible but it's just weird to see him in that band since most people only know him as Skrillex.

ETA: I don't have an answer to your question. Lo siento.

When was dubstep in its peak? Was this late 2000’s?

Bingo. It was that one song of theirs that triggered that few months of swing being popular.

I was in high school and the Sadie Hawkins dance one year had dudes in zoot suits trying to swing dance. That whole scene was dead in months.

I suppose it's still possible people make swing music?

I think it was the Brian Setzer Orchestra that triggered it with Jump Jive and Wail then the others got really popular.

I just googled Brian Setzer and it looks like he's back to rockabilly.

As far as I'm concerned dubstep's still relevant to the game, recognize and hear its influence in today's music particularly in the clubs straight slays. Maybe new jack swing because its apex was the early 90s but its influence is still being followed and improved upon so it's essentially still relevant as well.

Royal Crown Revue, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Cherry Poppin' Daddies. I confess that I loved that movement and enjoyed the hell out of watching people who really got into it and could actually dance.

Also, don't forget the movie: Swing Kids.

It was really just the Rockabilly movement, but with swing.
