Feel like these 2 are probably 2 of the best vocalist from that time period but seem very underrated
ETA: I’d say both are in the top 10 all time

Absolutely the best

I would have to add Ian Gillan, David Coverdale and Ronnie James Dio to the list.

Rodgers is #1 on my list. Gramm and Coverdale top 5.
Maybe Mark Farner and Jim Morrison final two spots.

I'm surprised Rod Stewart hasn't been mentioned in this thread.

Lou Gramm, Paul Rodgers do have great rocker voices.
But then it's a matter of different styles -- like Boston's Brad Delp and Journey's Steve Perry.

Freddie Mercury has a high-estrogen / women's voice. It and Queen have always been cringe.
NO one in my circle of friend ever put on a Queen album.
If not for 'Wayne's World', Queen was just a past quirk of an embarrassing band who front "man"... wasn't.

Yea, they’re great.
Was trying to keep the list somewhat contained. Should probably change title to underrated rock vocalists of the 70s-80s.
Rodgers and Gramm have the best voices IMO during that span.
As far as Lead frontman/ vocalist then of course you have Plant and all the other big names. It just seems in particular Gramm and Rodgers always get left off the list. Go listen to Free or Bad Company and Foreigner through the mid 80s.

Lou Gramm is so good. Watched the Foreigner- Breaking the Band how he wanted to keep rocking and Mick Jones wanted synthesizers and less guitar. At least they made a shite ton of money when they went soft with I want to know what love is.

You should listen to how Mick Jones screwed Lou Gramm beginning with I Want to Know What Love Is. Gramm wa willing to only take about 25% of the royalties and Jones tells him , no maybe you get 5%, to which Gramm tells him, naaah it seems the 5 % is awfully important to you.
Up until that time he and Jones used to be 50/50 or somewhere close to it on the percentages. Then Jones tried to freeze Gramm out so Gramm went and did a solo album that did better than the next Foreigner album.
