I say this as a big fan of the band but you realize that Joshua Tree came out in 1987 and Achtung Baby came out in 1991. They weren't exactly Santana disappearing off the face of the earth for 25 years between Abraxas and Supernatural. You're kind of saying I should be impressed that they were the biggest band in the world in both the late 80s and early 90s.

I saw em once live in '06 on the last show of the Vertigo tour at Aloha Stadium in the ellipse or whatever. Pearl Jam even opened which was weird and the main reason I was there, but U2 was solid live even if I didn't care to see them ever again. I remember some a-hole Greeks that wouldn't stop holding flags up blocking peoples' view. Pricks. Why do people do that lame shite anyway?

The Police would’ve been bigger had they stayed together. A more talented band.
But kudos to both bands for changing their sound at the right time, often more than once to stay relevant.
