The Bounce commercial where they change the words to "Your Love" by the Outfield and the Honda commercial where they mangle "Holiday Road" by Lindsey Buckingham.

If I ever find the people who record these songs I swear to God I will be in the news for homicide the next day. There need to be new expanded laws for noise pollution where that kind of thing is considered to be a crime against the airwaves.

And now, we're entering the Christmas season where every sing-along carol will have the words reworked with lyrics about sales and low prices and gift-buying. I dread it more every year.

I was watching the Saints game and just heard those 2 commercials back to back and thought it odd that both had different lyrics.. and that it was back to back..

edit: though clearly not as bothered by it as you

I think the bounce one is funny. The Honda one is really dumb.

When I saw the Honda one earlier, I looked at my wife and said "remind me to never buy a Honda"...

What I hate are those shitty Netflix music documentaries that are too cheap to license the actual music of their subject, so they play instrumentals in the background that sound vaguely like the style of the artist.

I guess those musicians who used to do the soundtracks for porn movies found work.

I'm pretty mad at Fleetwood Mac for allowing Gold Dust Woman to be used in a cellphone commercial.

Can't tell you how many times I saw this one yesterday and I completely agree with you. It's like they pulled the first man and woman off the street and gave them 5 minutes to come up with lyrics and learn how to sing. It's mind-numbingly bad.

The words are irksome enough but what actually got to me right when I first heard it was how they messed up the "Oh oh oh oh oh" part between lines in the verse. It's an amazingly simple melody and it comes off like they didn't even bother to listen to the original one time to get it right. Like nobody in the studio had access to youtube to just run through it one time and say "Oh wait a minute, we're fricking that part up".

And the hacks who did it probably got paid giant sackfuls of money for that lazy half-assed crap.
