Holy shite
I heard chocolate chip trip is the worst though lol
It's just an instrumental track that people are probably considering as filler. I liked it though.
If 7empest is the last song we ever hear from Tool, well mother of god did they go out correctly.

I think Cc trip is a great little break right before 7empest melts your face with 15 minutes of relentless metal. Holy shite.

First listen in and it already has bent 10,000 days over backwards
100% agree

If you liked the title track Fear Inoculum at all, I have great news for you, it's the weakest song on the album.
1000% agree, it's a great track, but by far the weakest.

Agreed. I already skip over it and listen to all others on repeat.
Choc chip trip would be more of a jam or segue to me. It was cool to listen to a few times but I usually skip it too.

Same here 100% as well.
But it's only bc i listened to FI every day since they released it, once I get a few listens of 2-7 in ill put it back in the rotation.
That said, obviously CCTrip is a segue more than a song, which pretty much puts them at 6 songs, but it's a strong effort, I really, really love this album as a whole.
Will be real interesting to hear the other 10 mins of segues and the album proper.

10,000 Days had 6 strong songs too, if you count Wings 1&2 as 1 song. This is right on par but with longer songs.

I know what this album reminds me of now, it's like Tool and King Crimson had a baby
I haven't listened to the leaks, but really dude? King Crimson?
Posted on 8/27/19 at 8:14 pm to NewIberiaHaircut
Again, not crimson, but a huge influence on the album imo, it's the offspring of the two, and I will stand by that after a 4th listen

I dunno what y'all are smokin. On first listen I thought it was a weak album. Seems like just a showcase of Adam Jones. Maynard seems like the outsider and no Relation to the music. No grit.
Fear is still the most cohesive song. Poor effort for 13 years or however long. I just don't see the effort like lateralus.
Do not get me wrong, the riffs are amazing but just feel disconnected from the lyrics and vocals.
I also have the album in flac
I get no emotion like 10000 days (wings of Mary), no grit like the grudge, no power like sober, no complexity like schism
eta on second listen: I don't think it is a weak album but it does lack a certain completeness that I believe can be contributed to what I said earlier. It feels like a jam session. I think Culling Voices is the weak song.

To be fair it took 10k days literally years for me to enjoy, I wasn't ready for what they did then.
Now I love it, Tool has this thing with an album cooking a bit over time.
But with this album it just speaks to me right away, I just fricking love it from start to finish.
To each his own
