Been listening to their Turn on the Bright Lights album. Digging it a lot. Super late to the discussion here but anyone else really like these guys? Any album preferences?

Like em all except their fourth album called Interpol. Our Love to Admire is my favorite. Last album El Pintor was pretty good although recorded and toured minus their original bass player.

Tried to get into them after instantly loving Evil when I first heard it. Found out I just don't like the sound of the first album. Pretty much only listen to songs from Antics now.

One of my good friends is a HUGE fan. I like them, but I find their sound to be a little repetitive after a while.

I love them. First 3 albums are my favorites.....had to listen to Interpol (the album) a few times, but it def grew on me to a point where I really appreciated what they did there. I'm late on El Pintor. I was disappointed after Carlos Dengler left the band.

TOTBL is still in my regular rotation. I love that album.

When the first record came out, I was really drawn to the first single... I remember them being a big part of the post-punk revival in NYC, at the time..
I think I just got bored with their sound (not that it's bad), though I did buy the 2nd record too.. Not sure how they evolved

Same. First two records are classics IMO. Over the years they've become one of my favorite bands. El Pintor was a very underrated album last year.

The first two records were great. The third album sucked, outside of the first single. I gave up on them after that.
I saw them live in New Orleans in late 04/early 05. It was probably the single dullest concert I've ever seen. I think they played all the songs off the first two albums in order. Didn't talk to the crowd, didn't stretch out the songs with different arrangements, didn't do any covers.

I liked them until I saw them live.

Turn On the Bright Lights is definitely their GOAT and one of my favorite albums. Antics is good. Everything after besides "The Heinrich Maneuver" is bad imo.
