Those who were teens in 1994...what were your most listened to albums?

So many break through years on the 90s. 92 was big big. 93 was the year mainstream went "grunge" (90210, Victoria's Secret, MTV Alt Nation, etc etc.). 1995 was a huge indie explosion of stuff from Lucious Jackson to Marilyn Manson to Sunny Day Real Estate to 311.
But 1994...especially that summer, wow. That is one year where I must have bought 30 CD's for $16.99 at Tower Records and Sam Goody.
Anyway, nostalgia is powerful. In no particular order, here were mine:
Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen
Live - Throwing Copper
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Candlebox- self-titled
Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies (EP)
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Pantera - Far Beyond Driven
Stabbing Westward - Ungod
Sponge - Rotting Pinata
Bush - Sixteen Stone
Eazy E - Real M.....G's
Notorious BIG - Ready to Die
The Crow - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Stone Temple Pilots - Purple
Some of those I will never listen to again, but nevertheless those were the mainstream ones that really made an impact. Gotta keep in mind, females were often around, so you had to be keen.
1994 just gives vibes of Taco Bell with 5 bucks keeping me full all day, buying dime bags of stems and seeds, drinking Red Dog and IceHouse beers; the Crow and Judgement Night at the movie theater; and great music.

Same here on these three, but Grant Lee Buffalo's "Mighty Joe Moon" was the "most" listened to CD that year for me.

Speaking of the Beasties, add Ill Communication to that list.
Also, 311 Grassroots.

I was a sophomore in college (19, so just ending my teens), and I was just beginning my jamband phase and seeing a lot of Dead and Phish shows.
I think I might have been into 311 and Sublime then as well. Digable Planets was another we were big into.

Nice list. Took me until the 00's and 10's to work towards black metal.
In the 90's it was Nirvana, Aerosmith, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, etc.
I think I wore out Nevermind, Get A Grip, Core, Dirt, Siamese Dream, etc.

94 was such a great year
Posted on 11/10/19 at 10:57 am to PiscesTiger
That was around the time I decided to listen to some of what the kids were listening to.
I was still living in L. A, although I left the next year, and just for fun, I was enrolled in a music law seminar at UCLA where I met a couple of industry types. I began to listen more to “alternative” rock”, which included grunge as a subset, I suppose . It was refreshing that some interesting young female artists started to have some success. I listened to a lot of different things. The car radio, by default, was tuned to KROQ.
