This kid is the next country star

This song shot up the charts after his audition.
Audition on American's Got Talent
Probably won't appeal to a ton of folks here as it won't be edgy or obscure enough. He has kind of a Cody Johnson/Midland/red dirt sound.
Looks like he also played Elvis on the show, Sun Records.
Has some songs on YouTube as well:

Just watched it tonight and he is outstanding. Great performer but terrific songs too. My favorite artist to emerge in recent times.

Very much in the midland mold. He has a team of songwriters writing for him and he sings the songs. A very Nashville product to say the least. But hey he’s got the looks and charm and can sing. So I’m sure he’ll be given a hit song to record and have some success.

Not to be insulting, but this is cookie cutter pop fitted to 80’s country vibes. There are so many better bands/songwriters out there actually writing their own music that is real rather than a karaoke singer with a guitar.

You keep trashing the kid by saying he has people writing for him but according to his website, he's a pretty prolific songwriter and at minimum, co-wrote every song on his EP.
I'm not saying he's some great artist but can see the writing on the wall that he'll be the next big country star. Just a statement.

Or it could be that he actually co-wrote the song.

Because i hated the music but understand that awful often sells very well. In fact, i would venture the top ten earning musicians today are all terrible.
