semi charm is that is a beautifully and masterfully recorded pop track

Semi-Charmed Life is also a fairly subversive song. It has the upbeat, poppy melody and some really dark lyrics hidden in it.

Dopamine had some decent throwbacks, but I agree on Screamer. I like the one acoustic track and that's it on Screamer.

Ursa Major was sort of the middle for me. There are some good tracks, but the sound got more generic, IMO.

I'll always remember their self titled album. I was dating someone for the first time seriously when it came out. She only liked country, and I didn't. Third Eye Blind was our common ground, and I'll always associate it with that time and my first real relationship.

Essentially the Stephan Jenkins solo project.

It's an album that is entirely forgettable for me. And I hate to even admit that.

ST>Blue>OOTV>everything else

Although he's hit on a few rockers since Dopamine over the years like Company of Strangers and Don't Give In. Weightless isn't too shabby either. In fact, that EP as a whole has some decent tracks.

It’s always been that if you ask Stevie J. It’s like Our Lady Peace. Albums 1-5 were great, now it’s just Raine Maida solo project under the OLP umbrella.

I think they’re great and get pegged into the pop band category but are more talented than they get credit for.

Glad you liked it!

While I still think the first two records are much better in terms of musical quality, I think OOTV has the best sampling of Jenkins' lyrical prowess.

I’ve listened to their debut album from start to finish too many times to count. There’s just something about it that really appeals to me

I think Jumper is just as good as semi charmed life.

Both are iconic 90s pop-rock songs.

The bridge of Jumper that leads up to the screaming and guitar solo is eargasmic

Jumper is a great song.

Graduate, Losing a Whole Year and How's It Going to Be were the other three singles, and all of them were fantastic songs. I love the unknown songs on the album closeout, but the singles were great pop-rock songs that didn't sacrifice quality for mass appeal.

Great thread. 3eb is probably top 3 as far as personal favorite bands go.

Blue gets the edge by a hair, followed by ST. OOTV is really good but falls short of any truly timeless songs which the first two albums boast.

The decline as stated before was when Cadogan stood up to Jenkins shady ways and was booted. Jenkins decided to cut off the absolutely awesome ending solo on Red Summer Sun and moved it to a hidden track about 10 minutes after Darwin ends. There is a YouTube version that mashes it up.

Good Lord, those guys made some amazing music while Cadogan was around. Even some of their unreleased demos such as Alright Caroline and Gorgeous.

Seen them a few times live and either Jenkins voice got better or the electronics have fooled me into thinking he can sing.

I will never get tired of jamming ST and Blue. Now I need to listen today.

A studio version of Gorgeous would've been much appreciated.

Boiling crawfish today. Gonna crush some beers then open a bottle of wine and listen to these 3 consecutively. Hell I may celebrate the bands entire catalogue.

Go in order...

Blue followed by OOTV.

The first track from Blue, Anything, is such a rocker.
