"Not sure why some were complaining about the sound for Clapton. Not saying you're wrong but it was fine where I was at on the first few rows of chairs. I enjoyed the set. It was pretty much what I expected out of a Clapton show so I wasn't disappointed. "

Sounded is never good from half way back to the track when the winds blow as hard as today. I splurged for Grand Marshall and from twenty feet away sound was fantastic. GM Pass only way to go if you can swing it. Great weekend

Yeah, the Joy is one hell of a renovation. It really is as good as a venue of that size gets.

Christ, I'd hope so.

The sound was terrible coming from the back set of speakers - like the only thing they were connected to was Clapton's guitar. We'd barely hear anything - then a blast of music every now and then.

And I don't think it was wind related, because Tab Benoit's set was clear as bell.

Oh well, if you treat JF as anything other than a social event (at least at the Acura Stage) you're asking to be disappointed. I went yesterday hoping to be wowed by music - and left disappointed. That's on me, I guess.

That's what I noticed as well. Jazzfest is not about the quality of music. it's more about culture, food, and art. That's what makes the late night shows the highlight of each weekend.

Yeah during Clapton yesterday I had a group of 15 people from NYC who were socializing the entire time. It was a strange group. They had two chicks that I think were prostitutes or something because each dude took turns motorboating them and humping them then they all took a bunch of mushrooms. They were going pretty hard for a bunch of 50 year olds.

If that's even true, that sounds pretty ideal for me at age 50

It is true. They all had stickers that said 'F$#k Ethan'. I guess it was his birthday or something.

I ended up at Rock and Bowl Friday night. Caught the end of Bonerama with John Gros sitting in, then Tab Benoit killed it with John Gros sitting in there as well, then watched some of Sonny Landreth close it out. Anders owned the day saturday as expected. I enjoyed the fist set of Phish... about what I expected. Went and saw Robert Plant close which was cool. Pretty Lights was fun Saturday night. Took Sunday off and went to a crawfish boil. Next weekend i'll spend more time in the tents. Looking forward to Arcade Fire and Fogerty the most.

I doubt I make it out to the Fairgrounds next weekend. I am going to try to make SCI on Thursday but am not counting on it.

Focusing on late nights this week(end).
