"The Carpet Crawlers" by Genesis: Great song or the GOAT song?

That's a fricking piece of art right there people. Gives me goosebumps almost every time.
I mean the way is just really subtlety builds up the whole song. That little guitar line after he says "heed their callers" in the chorus. So good.
I don't know what the frick Peter Gabriel's talking about, but it doesn't matter. That song is a masterpiece.

Not sure if serious... but didya know that some 35 years ago Genesis played right here in big BR?

Great song, but I like "In The Cage" and "Grand Parade" from that side of the album a little better.

You have to read the story about Rael that's in the liner notes. None of that album makes a bit of sense without knowing the story. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense even if you do but you're absolutely right that it's a masterpiece.

During the tour to support The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway album, they actually played at the St. Bernard Civic Center. About 300 people were there (I was one of the few). They played the entire Lamb album, plus one extra song, The Musical Box.

Wow, that would have been awesome to see. Although, I heard there were a lot of technical difficulties on that tour, especially with PG's costumes.
I found this old setlist, but it says New Orleans Music Hall.

That was the St. Bernard Civic Center concert. maybe it was because of the size of the crowd, but there were no real costumes worn by Gabriel at this show. he did a bunch of pantomime routines, especially during the instrumental segments, but no costumes. Back then, and rather amazingly, the St. bernard Center hosted a bunch of fairly big name concerts: Lou Reed, Joe Walsh, Jefferson Airplane, Dr. John, Mott the Hoople/ Queen (Queen was the opening act); Fleetwood Mac.

It was the CentroPlex, it was poorly attended, and the main thing I remember is learning that Phil Collins was a drummer who did some awesome duets with the black dude, Chester Thompson, which I found strange.
