Are they a "band" or a "backing band"? Quite a few members changed over the years; didn't realize Merle Haggard was a Burckaroo. I'm going to call them a band especially looking at their album covers. Good pick as was the Bob Wills.

Maybe not.
But that Sweetheart of The Rodeo album is still Country Hall of Fame good. Right up there with Will The Circle Be Unbroken.

I'm going to add The Outlanders too if we are going to be so broad.

Marty Stuart's band, The Fabulous Superlatives is a pretty damn solid band.

And why I'm considering the bands enormity and not one particular line up. One way we're discussing best line of a band; and the other way we're considering their complete catalog.

I would go with Allsion Krausse and Union Station, unless you consider them more bluegrass than country. I think they are in both categories, though.

Alison Krauss and Union Station. If you include them being primarily bluegrass, it's not close. If they aren't country, I don't see how Alabama isn't the best or at least the most successful.

The Flying Burrito Brothers
Gram Parsons
Great band that really kicked off the country rock genre.
Check out those Nudie Suits

Man, I thought I was the only person that ever heard of them.
It's a shame that didn't work. There was something there.

They were fantastic, Auggie. Loved their sound.

Did you buy that Seagull?
Posted on 12/31/22 at 10:06 am to auggie
I did not.
After looking around, it seemed his price was on the high end for that model.
