Only 16 dates. Closest to La. is Atlanta.

Too bad. They put on a great show. Kate Pierson has a wonderful voice.

Assuming Keith is going to tour. Hopefully they will add a date or two. Saw them in BR about 10 years ago and it was special.

Only fitting. I'd love to see those shows turn into a jam session with REM, Indigo Girls, and the other Atlanta/Athens bands of that era.

I don’t understand it either, it’s about as musical a city as it gets.

Noboy comes through here.

Can't be worse than Birmingham.....it used to be any significant act would stop there...anyone on national tour would usually hit it.....when I was a kid, all kinds of big names played Birmingham.

No one ever plays there anymore....Big name acts are rare even though they have decent facilities. I guess Atlanta and now Nashville sucked the life out of the concert scene.

Saw them about 5 - 6 years ago. It was embarrassingly awful.

...and the audience must have thought it was pride fest.

Always fun band to catch live. Saw them w REM in pmac mid 90s? Was a good show, saw them in 2019 as well at outdoor venue was really good and fun. Crowd definitely getting older ... me too
Also saw them in nola in late 80s, more of a club show as i recall, night a little hazy ....
Sorry its coming to an end but always enjoyed their shows

At least Birmingham has that amphitheater in Pelham. I see Korn, Zac Brown and Breaking Benjamin all headed there soon. Can't remember the last time Korn played NOLA. Bands literally skip NOLA for Brandon MS and Biloxi.

Sittin' and starin' out of the hotel window
Got a tip they're gonna kick the door in again
I'd like to get some sleep before I travel
But if you got a warrant, I guess you're gonna come in

Busted, down on Bourbon Street
Set up, like a bowlin' pin
Knocked down, it gets to wearin' thin
They just won't let you be

I'm not a concert guy at all but my wife and I went to one in tuscaloosa last night and it was enjoyable. Seeing your post I wondered if any "big name" artists were playing in Birmgham the rest of 2022 and I found the following:

Shinedown
Avett Brothers
Smashing Pumpkins
Chris Stapleton
Korn
Pitbull
Garth Brooks
Black Crowes
Luke Bryan
Zac Brown

All playing Birmingham this year. Granted that's not going to be nearly the quantity a major city like Atlanta is but a couple of those names surprised me a bit. To say Birmingham gets zero big name acts seems a little disingenuous. And that's not counhting elsewhere like Tuscaloosa, which I know has hosted Willie Nelson and Miranda Lambert in the last 2 weks.
