The $5.98 E.P. - Garage Days Re-Revisted

I was at a burger joint a few months ago, and the pretty young Black girl at the register had on a Beatles T-shirt.
I complimented her shirt and asked what her favorite song was by them. She didn't know any, she just liked the shirt, but she asked what she should listen to. Her name tag said Michelle, so I told her to start with that song and suggested a few others. She actually wrote them down on a sticky.
She was really sweet and interested, I wish I could run into her again and ask about it. She also got my order perfect.

I can say that well into my Metallica fandom I’d not heard the EP you mentioned. I didn’t hear the songs featured on it until Garage Inc. was released. It was a different time; there was no streaming and record stores didn’t carry everything. I’d cut the guy some slack.

I'd say 95% of those kids wearing cool bands/musicians t-shirts is just a fashion statement. The other 4.5% are just casual fans and 0.5% are probably hardcore fans.

I remember one time I was at a Quiznos and the news of Prince that he had passed was all over the news. Striking a quick conversation with a young cashier I said, "hey what a shame that Prince passed away". He goes, "who's Prince?".
