Listening to Mezmerize currently and every album that band released was incredible.
I hope we someday get a new one from them in the near future.
Toxicity is still my favorite.
Boards thoughts on them?
Incredible band and one of the few I’m upset I have never seen live.

I love how they never took themselves too seriously.
One of the most unique sounds out there.

Maybe so, but I could never get past Serjs’ politics. Aerials is a great song tho. Same goes for Rage and Morello. Can’t support them

Just throwing out the lyrics the musicianship is incredible.

Agree 100%. I put my Toxicity CD in the player a couple of weeks ago for the first time in over ten years. I had forgotten how fantastic the music is.
I also actually don’t hate the lyrics as much as I used to. There’s a lot of damn truth in Prison Song for instance, and I’m very much a conservative. Our government has done some fricked up shite over the years.

The guitar work in that band is just insane. Those dudes could write a riff.

Saw them in 2006 at Ozzfest. They were on that night, by reputation, their live shows are hit and miss. No Ozzy this show, but the main stage was:
Disturbed
System of a Down
Avenged Sevenfold
Hatebreed
Lacuna Coil
DragonForce
Also watched Black Label Society and a little Strapping Young Lad earlier in the day.
System's Setlist
Soldier Side - Intro
B.Y.O.B.
Revenga
Attack
Needles
Deer Dance
Suggestions
Psycho
Chop Suey!
Lonely Day
Kill Rock 'n Roll
Old School Hollywood
Violent Pornography
Cigaro
Radio/Video
Hypnotize
Lost in Hollywood
Question!
War?
Aerials
Toxicity
Sugar

I still dig Toxicity. Underrated for that era, I think.

I saw them in Atlanta. In 2000. It was them, Korn, Powerman 5000, and Kid Rock with Metallica headlining. Hetfield wrecked a wave runner and hurt his back the day before. They didn’t tell anybody. After a few hours waiting for Metallica to take stage they announced it to the crowd who was lit by this point. People were pissed. A member is SOD came out and said frick it. I know them all let’s do it. I think it was the bassist. He played guitar and sang with Metallica. He was badass and knew all the songs. It was awesome. Also got another free Metallica show a few months later.

Saw them at Grant Street in Lafayette. They opened for Incubus. It was right after "Sugar" hit MTV, but before Toxicity album hit.

Sept 1998
They played Varsity the night before, and I think that was the last time they played in Louisiana.. shocked Voodoo never booked them.

I just saw them with Korn a few months ago. Absolutely fantastic performance, sounded exactly like their recorded versions and the giant kanye-esque grid they had above them moving with visuals was amazing.
They also played Soldier Slide parts 1 & 2 before BYOB and I'm pretty sure my soul left my body.
Korn also kicked arse and didn't miss a beat.

First heard/saw them at summer sanitarium 2001. Have been a fan ever since. Serj Tankian voice is one of a kind.

Same at Texas stadium. Was that 2000 or 2001?
He sang nothing else matters at Texas stadium

I'm a big SOD fan. I saw them with The Mars Volta when Theodore was still playing drums. Mind blowing show!
