When Serj is the lead singer, I'm a big fan of SOAD. It seemed Daron started doing more lead vocals as they progressed and I'm not a fan of his sound or style.

I agree with Noel Gallagher when he said in the history of bands there is no one more awful Than System Of A Down

Love me some SOAD. Ahead of their time. They were special.

I also actually don’t hate the lyrics as much as I used to. There’s a lot of damn truth in Prison Song for instance, and I’m very much a conservative. Our government has done some fricked up shite over the years.
SOAD did Boom! as an anti-Iraq War song with Michael Moore directing the video, but the way things are becoming realigned, I'm not sure if the song wouldn't be somewhat at home on the right.

I enjoy watching peoples reactions to their songs on YouTube. Gives you that “first time I heard it” feeling again. They are one of a kind.
John is redpilled and strongly against Serj’s woke-ism. He says they didn’t speak for a long time but now have gotten past it.

Crazy isn’t it?
I honestly think it’s an effect of Trump. Love him or hate him, he pounded home how fricked up it was that the younger Bush went into Iraq and he was very effective in doing so. Many conservatives are now firmly against overseas wars due to him.

Yes I remember being quite surprised to learn how red-pilled he is. Pleasantly surprised though.

What’s your favorite album?
It's a toss up between Toxicity and Hypnotize.

Boards thoughts on them?
I cannot stand them but from a musical standpoint they are far from pedestrian.
Same way I feel with most metal, lots going on musically that is impressive but lacks anything that would make me listen again.

One of my favorites! Listen to them daily

I think that was the last time they played in Louisiana
I saw them open for Slayer at the HOB in New Orleans on 7/12/99, although I can’t find any info on them playing this show online I definitely witnessed it. Looks like an off day on the Ozzfest tour that Slayer and SOAD were on where they added a show.
I wasn’t familiar with them at the time but I’ve been a big fan ever since.

SOD in the House of Blues must have been incredible.
