anyone listen to this kind of stuff? it seems like it got a little popular with the movie "Drive" and the soundtrack, but still not relatively known. listened to a few tracks back when that movie came out, and recently started listening to it again (and watching stranger things). maybe it's just the nostalgia of it, but man i'm loving this shite

Kavinsky - Nightcall (from Drive)

Lazerhawk - King of the Streets

September 87 - Bad Dream Baby

The Midnight - Vampires

Freeweights - Everybody Wants My Name

I'm a fan of Lazerhawk's Redline album. The genre in general is a little too slow for me if I listen to more than a few tracks at a time, though.

Hated it then. Hate it now. Synth and fake drums drive me up a wall.

I feel a bit like this but did like some of it back in the 80's when I was as old as my sons are now. They're into it and don't get it when I put on my old man pants and tell them how dated it sounds. They look at me like I'm crazy--"Dad, that's kind of the point".

Of course, they're buying vinyl like crazy when I got rid of most of mine years ago (kept the best stuff, though!).

Started getting into this kind of stuff about a year ago.

Gunship is way badass. Solid catchy pop songs with that heavy 80s synth sound. What Daft Punk is to 70s disco, Gunship is to 80s synth pop.

Magic Sword is another. A little more movie score format rather pop based. Had a little bump with a song on Ragnorok.

Yea! Digitally imported synthwave channel

I prefer it's more upbeat sibling nu disco though.

Digitally imported also has futuresynth pop.
I couldn't get the link to play on my phone, so you might have to download the app.

All of those links are killer.
Oliver is my favorite. They are a producing duo that hits the sweet spot for me of heavy synthy sounds at an upbeat pace and sharp pop lyrics.
LINK

Too many good songs to link, but they came out with a album last year, and has songs with Chromeo and De La Soul

MGMT's new album sounds like it came from 80s synthpop.

Great song. Really interesting blend of that 80's synth/sax sound with a modern touch.

I've been coming back to this thread quite a bit to check out some of these recommendations.
