He played at Rough Trade last night in BK after this taping, and I didn't know about it until after the show had started but apparently it hadn't sold out. So pissed I missed out.

Anybody know who the new bassist is? I was sad to hear about Kev leaving the band, but damn this new guy was killing it! Loved the horns mixed in with Impact. Can't wait to see Sturg in Chattanooga in a month!

After some digging, I found some info. His name is Chuck Bartels. A Detroit bass "legend." I knew Kev was filing in for her husband, but I'm wondering what his plan is when he gets back. He had been with Sturg a long time. Seemed odd to me.

He stays in that pocket and groove. I like it. Kev was with Sturgill the longest, so it sucks to see these two not together. But the new guy is damn good.
He still has Laur Jomets on guitar, and that mofo is a beast. Miles Miller is nice on the drums and I like the backup vocals he does.

Nice to see Margo finding some success. Met her in Muscle Shoals a few months ago. She's really worked hard and deserves everything happening to her right now. Sweet Gal.
