How are they not more popular? Maybe that's a good thing

Yeah you know sometimes I really do think it is a good thing. I'm sure that's because I much prefer the smaller, more intimate venues over the bigger ones, which I suspect you may as well. Seems perfect for them.

I havent been to an arena show in 10 years probably, small venues are the only way to go.

The whole Facing the Ruin EP by frick The Fitzroy Doom Scene is really good.

New Wo Fat is just as awesome as their other stuff. Their riffs just stay in your head for hours like super glue.

New Truckfighters is just as good.

Not really stoner, but the new Scorpion Child is one hell of a great hard rock album.

Looks like we can expect a new Mastodon record early next year. According to Brent on Instagram, they're in the studio with Brendan O'Brien. Good news because Crack the Skye is my personal favorite.

IMO they fell off after Crack the Skye

I hope they rekindle that magic and make another stellar album

I'm late to this thread, but figured I'd add some of the bands I've been enjoying lately:

Beastmaker

Rama

Chiefs

Bus

This one's hard psychedelic rock rather than stoner, but some here might enjoy them as well:

Yuri Gagarin

I think the Youtube channel Stoned Meadow of Doom has been mentioned previously in this thread, but I'll give it another recommendation. I've found many good bands there.

Sayre, have you posted this one?

Causa Sui - Return to Sky

released back in March. Don't know how I missed this one. More of the same you'd expect from them. A pure blissful sonic journey.

I may have to start this entire thread over. about 3.5 years of solid posts here.

No, I missed that. Thanks bud.

I just bought one of the last 3 copies Amazon had.

Liked that Black Mountain posted a while back, so I picked up their third and fourth albums. 'Wilderness Heart' and'IV' last week.

Most excellent. There is some definite stoner to them, but also a lot more than just that.

Definite Sabbath/ Deep Purple vibe on Wilderness Heart.

IV has more in common with the first Ministry album (Cemetery Breeding) and Jan Hammer. A real 80s groove.

Good shite. Well crafted tunes.

The new album by Waldgefluster is really solid. I like long compositions that have a lot of different movements and allow you to get lost in them. Pretty much every song on this album fits the bill.

LINKApparently Mike Williams of EHG is about to die unless someone has an extra liver he can borrow. I wonder if they'll continue on with a new permanent singer.
