Who’s going?
I’ve never seen either live. I hope they’re worth it.

I saw the Doobies in concert when I was 18. I was the youngest in the crowd by a stretch. That was 28 years ago. I can only imagine the crowd now.
No slight to the band, great players.

Doobies are really tight now. They're actually back to being a more rock n roll band. Tom Johnson's really good.

I've had the pleasure of previously seeing both, yes, it will be worth it!

the one that I wish were still with them, when I saw them... Michael McDonald. Dude is for real

Concert was great. Both bands were tight. Doobies played all the expected songs and a few others.
Steely Dan (less one) excelled musically as usual. Only song I really missed was “Deacon Blues”. Great set though.
Lots of old folks stumbling in the dark looking for seats.

Both acts were great. I wish Steely Dan would have played Reeling in the Years, Do it Again and Deacon Blues.
I thought it was interesting that they kept an extra music stand and lamp on the stage. I saw Fagen use it once, but it seemed more like a tribute to Becker.
I was definitely in the lowest age bracket there, and I’m not that young.

Saw them in Atlanta on Saturday, and they didn't play Do it Again, but did play Reelin' and Deacon Blues.
Both the Doobies and Steely Dan put on a great show though.

I went for Steely Dan, but the Doobies were great too; didn't realize they have such depth of sound (4 guitarists, 2 percussionists). They didn't play much, if any, Michael McDonald era, but Johnston hasn't lost hasn't lost his voice at all.
Steely Dan was great, but not at their best I thought. And ya gotta play Deacon Blues.
We had great seats. 4 from the aisle around row 25 on the floor.

Um...they did. If you left before the encore you missed it.

Why do they leave this out of the set? Two of the 4 times I've seen them it was left off. It's my favorite song....period.
Could be it's one of the more difficult songs to sing and he doesn't want to lower the key?

Do they even attempt to do any of the Michael McDonald era stuff?
McDonald in the Doobies = Hagar in Van Halen.
All concerned were better off without each other.

The Doobie Brothers were and are Pat Simmons and Tom Johnston period end of story, the McDonald configuration could almost be considered a different genre of music.
