Manilow did not write the song. It was written by Scott English and Richard Kerr. English did tell a reporter he was annoyed with that it was about a dog, but that was a lie. The song was originally called Brandy, and English says, he was inspired after an attempted double entendre about Brandy (the drink). The title was changed to Mandy when Manilow recorded it to avoid confusion with the Looking Glass song Brandy (You're a Fine Girl).

bummer, guess it's back off of my playlist

I don't see why one would not listen again. It's not like it's from Anderson's point of view.

Death Bed (Coffee for your head) by Powfu.

Not really can’t listen to it again but definitely changes the tone of this otherwise cute and goofy song to realize it’s about dying. I still like it but it’s almost bittersweet.

so I haven't done one second of research on the song so genuinely could be way off...but is that all you're basing it on? Many, many women have childlike qualities. Not physically, just a sense of fun or innocence or naivety or whatever other adjectives you wanna use.

I don't think that one, single standalone line means that he's calling some 12 year old.

I thought Chandelier by Sia was about suicide by hanging and thought it was a pretty cool song. Then I learned it was just another stupid drinking party song.
