I'm in the market for some headphones. I have some buds to use for running or working out. I'd like some over-the-ear headphones. The only ones I know of are the Beats by Dre ones, but I'm not looking to spend $200. Anything from $50 to $100...

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Like with anything, you get what you pay for... Look for some audio technica if you want to stay in that price range.

Personally, I would spend the money and get something nice that will last. Take a look at the Bowers and Wilkins P3s. I absolutely love mine and think they sound better than anything Monster has put out.

There are quite a few headphone choices out there that sound better and are built of higher quality materials than Bose.

Yep, Bose mostly excels at advertising.

I heard Dre made more $ off Beatz then he did producing last year (which I guess isn't too crazy considering I can't even think of a single song he produced last year)

Sorry to be late to the party, but may I suggest the broadcasters' reference headphone: Sony MDR-7506.

I've seen them in big-box stores in the $80 range.

I'll second your recommendation, excellent headphones, especially for the money.

AKG, Audio Technica, Sennheiser, Shure, and Sony all make good headphones in that price range.

Dude, if I had only $100 to spend on full-sized headphones....Grado all day every day.

Grado SR80i LINK Best $100 headphones ever!

BTW, I have their SR325is and RS1i headphones. Both costing $300 and $700 respectively.

Signed,

Audiophile listening to 24bit/96kHz downloaded tracks with $700 headphones plugged into a class-A headphone amp and dedicated DAC while typing this

ETA: If you listen to mostly rap/hip-hop or music with lots of bass, then Grado's may not be what you're looking for. They are a little thin on the bass but really shine in the mid-range and treble. For Rock or Metal, they are really hard to beat.
