Is the music board closed or something? That "funkiest song" thread got moved in minutes. Meanwhile there's this and four pages of arguing about "yacht rock" on the front page of the OT.

When I saw the title was 'Nothing Compares 2 U' in 1990, I assumed everybody knew it was a Prince song.

Chris Cornell' version is way way way way better.

Took me forever to figure out that was sting.
I had no idea it was a Prince cover.
I remember her being way ahead of the curve on the Pope.

Sinead O'Connor might be an interesting WYHI?

She picked the wrong pope to harp on. John Paul II was a great pope by all accounts. If she wanted to tear up a picture of Francis, most true Catholics would probably be okay with it today.

It’s been 7 hours and 15 days since I’ve listened to this song, by a better artist

Maybe Sinead wrote the lyrics, and she definitely made the song popular with her great performance of it.
100% Prince composition.
She didn't want to do it, it was forced on her by the record company, she bitterly resented it, she dissed the song TO Prince, in person, and they had a physical altercation about it.
Your knighting of this insane person in this thread is a little strange I must say.

Never liked that song and cared for her even less as an artist.

She was great in the Ceanberries.

Yeah but has she ever pissed on a fan on stage?

Loathe that song, regardless of who sings it.
