90% of the people who know who she is now wouldn't have heard of her without the Prince song and her snl stunt. She would never have been on snl without the Prince song, so one could reason the Prince song was responsible for her MAINSTREAM fame.

YouTube the video of Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary show. She was a mess. SNL had just happened and she is getting boos. I don't know what Dylan song she planned to sing, but she just stood there listening to the boos.

It was like she was going to get pissed and sing the shite out of something. Then she gets broken up and goes on some spoken word tirade. Stomps off crying to a Kris Kristopherson hug offstage.

Had she just put her head down and sang, she'd have been fine.

I'm most surprised on how nice that Travel Lodge looks in the picture in the link.

In light of all the filth that has come to light the Popes have been hiding I'd say she was doing the public a service.

Not to mention she's said she was not attacking the man, but the institution.

CAD703X c'mon man. I am talking about fame, not how good she might be. Without NC2U, she would have been Tori Amos or Kate Bush famous, not Sinead O'Connor famous.

She only has a career because of her ONE HIT which was a Prince song at that.

That the record company MADE her record to try to get some of their money back they'd invested in her crazy, Irish arse. She's crying real tears in the video because they were making her do that, too.

Now, I get that she's crazy, but she should be treated, not celebrated.

Caught an early interview of her when she was still on top. Sounds like she was always suicidal. She needs to be inpatient somewhere or she will be dead. She already had that episode where she took off on a bicycle a while back. Sounds like she was planning it?

I hope I don't come across as pissed, and I don't consider this an arguement, but I am DUMBFOUNDED that you can't see that if you took NC2U off that album, it sells maybe one quarter to one third of the copies it did, which illustrates my point that the Prince song made her famous.

Do you call out Stevie Nicks for being successful singing Prince's "Stand Back"?

How about Sheila E for "Glamorous Life"?

Chaka Khan's "I Feel for You?"

Sheena Easton's "Sugar Walls"?

Bangles "Manic Monday"?

You could argue many of those other artists are also famous only because of singing a Prince tune.
