I really enjoy these two groups and they both bring their own unique style to the contemporary alternative music scene.

I do enjoy both, and have seen them live on more than one occasion... However, I have to go with Silversun on this one.
VW may be more popular amongst the masses, but Silversun's complexity of sound, and their brand of rock and roll, I find more appealing.

Contra and Self titled are miles better than Carnanvas. Vampire Weekend by a long shot. Get that shoegazer shite out my face!

There is NO similarity between these two bands
I have no clue why the OP decided to somehow compare them or pit them against each other.
It would be like comparing Journey and slayer.
They only thing the two have in common is that the OP lieks them both
