Roy Clark was a badass on the guitar. He has a few other "rags" and "hops" online to view that will blow your mind.

Roy Clark was a fantastic guitar player, almost as good as Glen Campbell

Glen is good but Roy is in a different league.

Someone once asked Eddie Van Halen about being the greatest guitar player and his response was " You mean Roy Clark?"

Probably, EVH came from a musical background, his father was an accomplished jazz musician and he probably was exposed to a whole lot of influences that you don't think of when you think of influences on rock musicians....so he probably recognized early how special Roy Clark truly was.
There are a lot of " country" pickers that were fantastic. Very clean. Glenn Campbell was really good. Merle Travis comes to mind and of course, Chet Atkins. You could make the argument that without Atkins and Chuck Berry and Link Wray, you really don't get rock music.

Roy was also a good singer but was a guitarist first. He use to play in Branson when he got older and I had the chance to go but Clark was before my time when I didn't know who he was. Had I known I would have gone to see the guitar legend.
Another guitarist that is under the radar is Junior Brown. Now for Mandaolin playing that goes to Ricky Skaggs and Marty Stuart.
