would be nice to have such an amazing show and display and it be ALL about the music and experience not his political beliefs during IMO what was one of the highlights of the show.
His politics ARE part of his musical experience
There are very direct references to trump all over his new cd, and the philosophy of his older tunes run in the same viewpoint often.
It's like a few of you out there are lactose intolerant and blaming the ice cream company for making such a delicious dairy product that you can't resist it.
I fall right but am not a trump fan. Some of the visuals hit the mark, some i thought missed but to pretend a roger waters show is expected to sidestep politics for you is absurd.
Edit: not directed at the quoted poster, meant for the wider crowd that is getting snowflakey about it

people saying "you should have known his politics", screw you. I couldn't have predicted that. I listen to the man's music and I know he wasn't thinking about Trump when he wrote Money.
So you haven't read any reviews of his shows, any of his recent interviews, and missed his wall tour from 5 years ago.

I'll buy that for the super casual person that was gifted a ticket or got some cheap seats on a whim but coming from the super fans it's a weird situation

My guess is that the complainers aren't super fans, but just rednecks that heard "Money" on Eagle 98.1 and wanted to sip on a $10'yuengling and hear Roger play that one

I watched his Wall tour in theaters a few years ago and he injected his political views but it was something that didn't dominate the show, and I loved it. But you have non-Trump voters and even liberals in this thread saying the current show was over the top such that it detracted from the show. There's nuance to this that apparently seems to elude some of you guys for some reason.
I am by no means a Trump fan, but every time people try to associate Trump with Hitler or the Klan, they are just shitting all over themselves. Not only are they insulting the memory of millions of victims of oppression/genocide, they are also jeopardizing any argument they may have.

It was right next to the soundboard. 3 baws in row 12 were smoking and maybe being a little obnoxious, your boy in 11 was irritated by it I guess. I saw them exchange words multiple times throughout the show, but during comfortably numb, one of the baws with the new Iberia haircut was holding back his padnuh and lone wolf in row 11 took his bitty and relocated.
If you were on row 12, you wouldn't happened to have been that old guy that brought a 20 year old sugar baby in a ridiculous jumpsuit? If so, congrats on the secks

Trump wasn't president for The Wall tour so I imagine it was a bit more tame. Trump has triggered the left more than any politician I've ever seen. Not sure what Waters would have been complaining about a few years ago.

The essence of Pink Floyd is whatever the frick Roger Waters says it is. Ya know?

Ok we were on the other end of 12. I was enjoying the shite out of my time too much to notice them ruffians.

how can anybody be a fan of his music and not know he was going to be political?
kinda like going to a vegan restaurant and have them tell you meat is bad for you.
the horrors!!

Yeah no offense but you pretty much have to be a friggin' idiot to go to a Roger Waters' concert and then be offended by the political message.
Posted on 7/9/17 at 6:01 pm to TigerJeff
How many idiots went to this concert thinking Roger Waters was gonna hold their delicate little hands as they skipped together down the yellow brick road of classic rock nostalgia? Drop your party ties and think for yourselves. Certainly don't let some musician ruin your night with his bullshite politics.

The way to do this is like Midnight Oil did here a few weeks ago. MO is a very political band thanks to the lyrics and songwriting of Peter Garrett. Songs such as Short Memory and US Forces are very anti-US, anti-colonial, and anti-war.
You understand that going in but the music is top-notch. I thought Garrett would pontificate throughout the concert but he kept it on the philosophical side (peace, get along, etc...) He knew his crowd and didn't see any point in bashing this country or our politicians. They basically just played the music-and very well at that.

Well I've fricking had enough of the liberal agenda being force fed down my throat in today's world. Maybe if the whining and crying wasn't constant I could have tolerated it for a short while and blocked it out.
So you're whining about not liking whining? Sounds like another BroFlake

This guy gets it. I don't care that Roger Waters hates Trump or even that he uses his concerts to express his politics. It was the way in which he chose to do it that was tasteless.

Haha yeah he played a ballad he wrote about Bradley Manning or something, and he also made some references to Big Oil. I'm sure the vagina hat wearers in this thread were all for that.

Well, Roger Waters DID see the point. Stay home next time.
