I remember every little thing as if it happened only yesterday
Parked down by the lake, and there was not another car in sight...

He was one of my favorites. And what a partnership with Jim Steinman.

Meatloaf's story about the day JFK was assassinated in Dallas. LINK

RIP. He was one of a kind.

Damn. I swear I meant to post yesterday how I had just done a deep dive in Meats catalog and how amazing he was.

Bat out of Hell album is unreal. I don’t think people today realize how big of a deal he was and how many records that album sold.

I remember being a curious kid and seeing this album in my cousin's record collection... I was kind of intimidated by the cover and thought it would be some dark, evil hard rock/metal record...

It's amazing how much that record sold...

I cant say I care much for the music itself, but they must've done something right...

RIP

The musicians that played on that album are great, Springsteen's piano player and drummer, a couple of members of Utopia including Todd Rundgren who produced the album

I had outpatient surgery a year ago. The nurses were laughing at me when i was waking up. Apparently i was performing a horrendous rendition of "I'd Do Anything For Love, (but I won't do that).
Not even my favorite song of his.
RIP Meat Loaf.

Meatloaf is like Kiss for me. He's wildly popular with people a little older than me and I'll never understand it.
having said that RIP

Nearly the same. 11 year old High C saw that album cover while shopping 45’s in HEB and it scared the shite out of me. RIP

I read an interview with Rundgren talking about producing Bat, saying he was going for a "spoofy" version of Springsteen, which confirmed my thought of the album having a "Bruce doing show tunes" vibe to it. Having some guys from the E-Street Band play on it definitely added an extra layer of authenticity. Don't know for sure if Meat or Steinman were in on the joke tho, lol... either way, I love that album, and gonna play it tonight while hoisting a cold one. As Meat once sang, "Rock and roll and brew!"

RIP
