I hope I have as much energy as Ringo when I’m 84.

He sings better than Paul at this point.

Ringo is the best singer

Dang Ringo looking good. He's look the same since about 1995.
To be fair Ringo's songs are in a really easy range. Paul is still trying to sing really high parts in original keys.

Damn, things must be bad at the Opry.

quote:Yeah, so bad that one of the most famous musicians of all time - despite being elderly - is still competently putting out tunes, including country music, and has the energy and stage presence to show up at an historic venue and be flanked by tons of other stars that are extremely happy to be part of it.
Damn, things must be bad at the Opry.
Poor Opry.

If the Grand Ol' Opry which is located in Nashville, Tn., the center of the original country music universe, needs Ringo to draw a crowd, that's fricking pathetic.
Why didn't they just ask Beyonce or Shaboogie? Not much different.

With all due respect, The Fabs covering Buck:

His new album isn’t bad.

It's not about Ringo. I like him. He just shouldn't be at The Opry.
The same way Dolly shouldn't be in the RRHOF.

He’s been preparing for years:

Was there, it was fantastic.

Could you tell what % of the room was casual Opry goers vs the % of hardcore Ringo fans that were determined to be there?

I'd go 50/50 and you could tell the difference. There's 10-15% there that just go to every show regardless of who's playing.
He does not look or sound 84 years old. He's took care of himself.

the venue only holds around 4,000 people and sells out damn near all the time.
the Opry doesn't "need" Ringo to draw a crowd.
but if you can land a Beatle, you do it. that simple.
